Cloth. Condición: Very Good. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Very Good. Harold Anderson Ilustrador. First Edition. - correct first edition, no other trade edition before this G & D edition, first binding in brick red cloth, printed in black at the spine & bright yellow on the front board, illustrated with 4 half-tone plates - a novel of hockey to which is added a summer of baseball as well - it is the story of a battle for hockey supremacy between the " Yankville " boys and the " By-Town " champs [ Ottawa, Ontario ] - the final game holds as a tie after 3 overtime periods and the trophy is won on a coin toss ( each team keeping it for 6 months ) - This copy from the estate of Hockey Hall of Famer, Ted " Teeder " Kennedy with his memorial bookplate - Teeder won the Hart Trophy in 1955 and led his Maple Leafs to 4 Stanley Cups in 5 years, an astounding record - this book was given to him by a well-meaning Forest Hill neighbour, after retirement, Ted told me that he tried to read it but found it unrealistic - certainly the most honest assessment possible of this standard boy fiction genre & Teeder was never anything but honest - a vg bright copy, suffering some tide staining in the upper fore corner, but still nice in the Anderson colour pictorial dj depicting two young players jostling and digging for the puck - a better association will not be found. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
