Two vintage studio still photographs, one borderless with a bottom margin, and one with a wide bottom margin, of Peter Bogdanovich and John Ford, from the 1971 film. One with a mimeo snipe on verso, for the 9th New York Film Festival, the film's US premiere. Bogdanovich's documentary on the life and films of he seminal director, interviewing the notoriously obstinate man himself, as well as some of his most famous actors, notably Henry Fonda, James Stewart, and John Wayne. Affording the rights to the clips, however, exhausted the film's AFI funding, resulting in the film being rarely shown, and then only in non-profit venues. In 2006 Bogdanovich, having been dissatisfied with the initial version, re-edited and included additional interviews with actors and directors, including Clint Eastwood, Martin Scorsese, Steven Spielberg, and Walter Hill. 8 x 10 inches. Some light creasing, else Near Fine. Scorsese, A Personal Journey Through American Movies.

Two vintage borderless photographs from the 1974 film, one glossy and one matte-finish. One showing director Peter Bogdanovich in conversation with actresses Cloris Leachman and Eileen Brennan on the set, the other showing Bogdanovich with actress Cybill Shepherd and an unknown woman, likely during a promotional event for the film. Based on the 1878 novella by Henry James. An intense study in the rules of class boundaries, crossed with American-British dichotomies. Bogdanovich's faithful adaptation of James' story concerns the courtship of a beautiful but flirtatious American girl Daisy Miller (Shepherd) by a sophisticated, upper-class British compatriot named Winterbourne (Brown). Miller's refusal to observe class boundaries in her flirtations leads Winterbourne to respond negatively to her-with dire consequences. One 10.5 x 8.25 inches, one 10 x 8 inches. Near Fine.

Group of 19 original 35mm color slides of actors Dorothy Stratten and John Ritter from the film They All Laughed, signed by the author / director Peter Bogdanovich on the lid of the slide box. In addition to BogdanovichÕs signature, the box is labeled in an unknown hand: ÒDorothy Stratten and John Ritter, ÔThey All LaughedÕ 35mm Dupes.Ó All of the slides are of the same image. The film was directed by Peter Bogdanovich, with a screenplay by Bogdanovich and Blaine Novak, and starred Audrey Hepburn, Ben Gazzara, Patti Hansen, John Ritter, Dorothy Stratten, and Blaine Novak. The image is of Dorothy Stratten and John Ritter in character as Dolores Martin and Charles Rutledge, who play the beautiful young wife of a jealous husband and the detective he hires to follow her. RutledgeÕs work goes astray when he falls for Martin. The slide is a sweet scene, showing Dorothy Stratten and John Ritter sitting on a bench, with Ritter holding StrattenÕs hands and gazing at her lovingly. All slides are in fine condition. The film was released after the murder of Dorothy Stratten, the lovely Playboy Playmate of the Year (1980), with whom Bogdanovich fell in love during filming. As a result of this tragedy, no major studio would release the film, and Peter Bogdanovich spent five million dollars of his own money to distribute the it himself. They All Laughed was Audrey HepburnÕs last starring role in a feature film.
