Paperback. Condición: Very Good. First edition. 220 p., wrps. Paladin of progress and innate reformer, Jose Joaquin Fernandez de Lizardi began his literary career in 1808 writing festive and burlesque verses in which he ridiculed the abuses and bad habits of certain types, depraved or extravagant, that swarmed then in the capital of New Spain. Verses of that genre were very much in vogue at the time, and those of Lizardi are not distinguished from others that abound in the Diario de Mexico (1805-1817) but in the publication procedure, that is, in brochures. that were sold directly to the public. In the compositions of this period does not interfere Lizardi in political questions, and one of his poems, Muralla de Mexico in the protection of Maria Santisima Nuestra Senora (1811), indicates that he was not anything addicted to the revolutionaries of 1810. He had, not However, a lively passion for politics, and in October 1812 already in force the Constitution of Cadiz, which destroyed the entire colonial system founded its own newspaper, The Mexican Thinker was also his pseudonym in order to make propaganda in favor of the Constitution, of which he was a passionate devotee. I also publish, in the first eight numbers of the Thinker, a series of articles on the injustices that the American colonists had suffered for so long under the Spanish regime. The viceregal government, which had seen with bad eyes the liberties granted by the new.

Softcover. Condición: Sehr gut. 1a.ed. en esta colección. 225x170 mm. Colección Clásicos del Bicentenario. 112 p. Rústica. Sprache: Spanisch, il. a color. Muy buen estado. Cubiertas: leves roces. Interior: sin marcas y en excelentes condiciones. USADO / GEBRAUCHT / USED.
