    Hardcover. Condición: Very Good+. Full leather, 4to, with metal clasp at fore-edge; with 17 heavy cardstock leaves, illustrated with images of ships and ocean liners, and with cut-out sleeves for the insertion of photographs. Contains 52 sepia and b/w photographs (silver gelatin and albumen prints), cartes-de-visite, cabinet cards; ranging in size from about 1-by-2 inches to 4-by-5.5 inches; images of men, women, boys and girls. Leather split along joints; boards scuffed along the edges; pages very lightly rubbed, but overall internally bright and clean. Illustrations include the HMS Worcester and Green Company Line; Allan and National Lines; Anchor and McBrayne's Highland Lines; Cunard and Orient Lines; Dominion and Inman Lines; Donald Currie's and W. & A. Brown and Company's Lines; P. & O. and Union Lines; Royal Mail Line, Brazilian and other boats; Shaw, Savill and Albion Company's and Union Lines; White Star and British India Lines. Photographs hail primarily from England, with another from Germany and a few of unidentified origin. All are in excellent condition -- just a few are very lightly rubbed or soiled. Of maritime interest, of course, but also a wonderful look at the fashions of the period.

    Large hardback approx 11 x 8 inches. Padded green leather covers with raised banding and gilt paneled spine. Embossed and coloured gilt floral design to front. Rounded edges, gilt inner dentelles. Decorative gilt floral endpapers. Full gilt page edging. Heavy silver metal side clasp fastener. In very good condition. Some rubbing to cover, faded on front and spine, some handling marks. Else binding tight and sound. Cloth reinforced binding. One or two minor handling marks and a couple of boards darkened inside, else illustrated boards all very clean and bright. Stunning Victorian photographs, many in period dress and costumes. Some photos are inscribed on rear sides ?Gordon Alesion Matthew, Glady E. Matthew, Reginald Wilcox Matthew.? Very scarce album. 19 heavy card leaves including title, containing 40 stunning period cabinet-card photo portraits, two hand coloured. Colour chromolithograph title page, with index on verso, and 10 colour chromolithograph album pages depicting the vessels of various cruise ship lines.
