Hardcover. Condición: Good. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Good. UK hardback fourth impression from 1973. A rare SIGNED copy, interestingly INSCRIBED at ffep 'Greetings to Pamela - who was hoping to do it - from Helene Hanff (who hopes to see it!)'. There is an additional inscription to Adele in another hand to front pastedown, dated August 1974. The book is VG- with slight mustiness, in unclipped jacket with some edge rubbing. I think Adele Norman was an actress or producer or similar, and the exchange may relate to a potential film or stage adaptation. Signed by Author.

Hardcover. Condición: Very Fine. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Very Fine. Price Clipped. Janet Halverson Ilustrador. First Edition/Seventh Printing. A very bright clean copy, now in protected jacket, signed "For Joe's little sister Sue from one of Joe's admirers Helene Hanff (with thanks for liking my books so much. Just don't forget you stole them from Joe!)" to the half title page. This is a record of a love affair between a lady and a shop. The shop was Marks & Co dealing in rare and secondhand books, the lady was a merry New Yorker who didn't believe in being impersonal. Instead of sending orders for books she wrote letters to Frank Doel, the manager, and then to members of his staff and his family as well. The correspondance ended only with Frank Doel's death, which was followed by the closing of Marks & Co. The book was made into a wonderful film staring Anne Bancroft as Helene Hanff and Anthony Hopkins as Frank Doel. Signed and inscribed. Book.
