Hardcover. Condición: Near Fine. First edition. 12mo. Spine toned and front cover with a bit of very faint soiling, frontispiece tissue guard foxed and title page modestly so, just about near fine. Extensively Inscribed presentation copy, given to Mary Simmerson Cunningham Logan, author and wife of Civil War Union General and Congressman John A. Logan, in his memory. The book features a full-page manuscript "In Memoriam" to John A. Logan; a full-page Signed Inscription to Mrs. Logan; a brief Inscription beneath the author's frontispiece portrait; another Signature on the final page of text; and, on the rear blanks, a likely unpublished, four-page manuscript poem titled "Logan's Sword!," Signed again by Savage at the close. Savage was a military officer and author, mostly of popular novels. An excellent association.
