Condición: Paperback in new condition. 86 pages. The precepts in The Supreme Path, directed to Buddhist monks a thousand years ago, apply to all in any age who seek beyond the surface of life. Abdullah's practical advice enables approaching the heart of this universal teaching."If the ego and body are really calmed down it is possible to experience something completely different from your usual state. There are no words, nothing to do with the body; there is peace and tranquillity. You are something else - your name part, or your spirit. It is a state each person has to experience for himself. From these small beginnings, if you can tie it all together you start to get a picture of the whole.".

Hardcover. Condición: Very Good. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Very Good. 352 pages. The second of three volumes based on question and answer sessions held regularly by Abdullah for his pupils over a period of several years, Quest II gives practical information on many facets of the work required to balance one's psychology and develop spiritually. It gives detailed explanations of the nature , interactions and implications of man's negative psychological s tates. Topics include attachment, body, depression, drugs, ego, f ear, hate, imagination, negative anticipation, profit motive, res entment, selfishness, sex, worry. Excerpts from book: From 'Bo dy' Q. I see that in many groups which emphasise spirituality the re is a danger of people getting their feet well off the ground. A. People fly too high. Although it may appear a slower way, the body is as good a place as any to start from. Most people think t hat their body is them, so we start from something as near to con crete as we can get in this situation. Even thought largely origi nates from the body. People who work on their body, who admit th e fact that they have a body and that they have to make this body obedient, are in reality working on their spirit at the same tim e. (p. 44) From the back cover: The body is real enough in the t hird dimension but is illusion in the fifth. The way out of the r ounds of lives and deaths is to know we are not the body but the essential self, call it spirit, soul or consciousness. Editorial Reviews From the Inside Flap We must try to be aware and contai ned simultaneously, for if we don't we are fragmented, dissipatin g our energy willy-nilly. If we are inattentive, following associ ative thinking, then we insult Allah. Do this at your peril. Fro m the Back Cover According to the Lord Buddha, one of the main re asons for our being on the planet is that we are dominated by our desires and our craving after them. The main yearning we have is for a body and it is this craving which brings us back to the Ea rth repeatedly. The body is real enough in the third dimension bu t is illusion in the fifth. The way out of the rounds of lives an d deaths is to know we are not the body but the essential self, c all it spirit, soul or consciousness.
