SIGNED first edition - First printing, a trade paperback, not issued in hardcover. Includes two long poems, the first inspired the letters included in this book, and the other written as his father was dying of cancer, both dealing with the struggle between a son, living as a poet in the San Francisco Bay area, and his father, the child of Jewish immigrants who grew up in Arkansas, and become a publicist, performer and playwright (including traveling with Sinclair Lewis as he was researching small towns for "Elmer Gantry") and who was recognized by Yale University for his 50 years of work in the theater. The poems are preceded by a preface from the author, and in the middle are letters from his father, and a small section of photographs. SIGNED on the first page. 72 pp. Near fine in glossy illustrated wrappers (upper corner slightly bent).
