First edition, No. 1496 of 3000, of this lavishly illustrated history of the noted yacht builder which emerged from the P.S. Huckins lumber company founded in Bangor, ME. The company was founded by Frank Huckins in 1928, when he together with Harold I. Perrin and Henry Skinner Baldwin established the yacht company to build the "Fairform Flyer." The company survived the Great Depression, built a total of 18 PT boats during World War II, including PT-102 commanded by John F. Kennedy while serving as an instructor at the PT Squadrons Training Center in Melville, RI. The company continues to build custom yachts after nearly 80 years, emphasizes modern materials to increase strength and maximize fuel efficiency, as well as beautiful hulls.
