This bibliography exhaustively describes 50 treaties (1677-1768) with American Indians, with full collation, a substantial synopsis, and identification of where copies can be found in major libraries. Most entries are illustrated with a full page title page reproduction. From the introduction: "During the long period in which Great Britain and France struggled for the supremacy on the North American continent the affairs and friendship of the Indians were of the greatest importance. This was especially true of the Iroquois and the Western Indians Many of the records of the various treaties with the Indians exist only in manuscript; some have been printed in the Journals of the Governors and Councils It is the object of this monograph to locate and describe such as were separately printed. A brief synopsis of the contents of each treaty is given, and also the location of copies in the principal libraries and private collections. It is quite probable that they were printed in very small editions, which would account for their rarity " Bound in the original gilt-stamped green cloth. First Martino printing. Hardcover. New/in publisher's shrinkwrap. 8vo. (xiv), 95pp. Great Packaging, Fast Shipping.

Joseph Murphy was born in 1898 in a small town in the County of Cork, Ireland. He was brought up in a strict Catholic household, as were most of his compatriots. After leaving Ireland for the United States, he eventually founded his own church in Los Angeles. At first he attracted only a small number of participants, but eventually his message of optimism won converts. He became an important proponent of the New Thought Movement and named his ministry The Church of Divine Science. Dr. Murphy wrote more than 30 books, his most famous being The Power of Your Subconscious Mind. It became an immediate bestseller and is considered one of the best self-help books ever written. His basic theme is that the solution to problems lies within you. Elements outside of your, whatever their origin, should not change your thinking. The power of change can be unlocked by tapping the power of your subconscious mind.". First Edition. Softcover. Fine condition. Illus. by NOT a library discard. (ii), 130 pages.
