Hardcover. Condición: Used - Very Good. Socio-documentary photographer Miklos Boros tells a uniquely 21st-century story in this book, chronicling the life of a Hungarian-born single mother of three who makes a living as a pole dancer. Boros spent two years recording, in black-and-white and color images, the everyday personal and professional life of his subject, finding the telling moments that express the pleasures, difficulties and contradictions of her life. Boros neither moralizes nor comments; instead, he uses the documentary approach to create a narrative which fills the spaces between the photographs. The result is a razor-sharp portrait that lifts his subject out of her public status as available object. Slight scratching/scuffing on cover. Book has minor shelf wear.

Hardcover. Condición: New. Photographer Annelies Oberdanner's second book of images of Vienna, this volume deepens her exploration of this magical city, delving even further into its color and atmosphere. At first glance, Oberdanner's photos seem to be telling only part of the story, but they reveal a mystery as the viewer studies each image. Don't expect picture-postcard scenes: she focuses on non-descript areas of town, looking behind the obvious facades at the surprising beauty of bare-branched trees mantled in snow, a potted plant abandoned on a sidewalk, high-rises sprouting from rubble. These unembellished, almost casual, scenes give a truer portrait of Vienna than any glossy guidebook.

Hardcover. Condición: Used - Very Good. Imagine pure form captured as light on paper it's almost indescribable, yet those are the photograms of Austrian photographer Werner Schnelle. In this book's high-quality, large-format duplex prints, the viewer can appreciate the detail and subtlety of Schnelle's contact prints and process engravings that conjure up the Bauhaus, Moholy-Nagy and the 'Construct' movement in Europe. Insightful commentaries by Margit Zuckriegl and Kurt Kaindl provide an insight into a photographic approach which has been embraced by only a small group of fine art photographers.
