Soft cover. Condición: Very Good. Joseph Goldyne Ilustrador. A prospectus for the upcoming publication by Arion Press (in 1991) of a book that was to include the translated sonnets of Guido Cavalcanti, an Italian poet that lived at the close of the twelfth and the beginning of the thirteenth century. Details on this deluxe limited edition are presented, as is a sample of the Italian handmade paper that will be used in the book. Information is also included on the translator of the sonnets (Ezra Pound), the writer of the introductory essay (Hugh Kenner) that will be a part of the book and on Lowry Nelson, Jr., who edited the Italian texts, prepared prose translations and commentaries. The book was also scheduled to have an etching in color done by Joseph Goldyne, and a reduced version of this illustration appears in this prospectus on the first page as a tipped-in plate. The prospectus also has a short essay on this artist and his work. Measures 6.25" x 9" with 12 pages. A separate one-page announcement from Arion Press is included, and provides additional information on the upcoming publication of this important book.
