15p., mimeographed recto-only, side-stapled 8.5x7 inch oblong yellow wraps with printed titling, this revised edition has an added foreword; faint vertical crease. Anti-Krassner rant originally published in 1963 by the author, which has been revised and an explanatory preface added. He claims Krassner and the Realist to be anti-peace-movement despite feigning a humanist approach. His dislike and distrust extends to Playboy Magazine and its imitators, as well as to Lenny Bruce (whom he considers an untalented hate-filled man propped up by Krassner and Hefner). The rant was initiated by The Realist's ignoring a lead on a story Hawkins suggested, and the author's subsequent discovery that Krassner was involved with such magazines as Nugget, Caper and Rogue.

First edition. Oblong 8vo, unpaginated, mimeographed from typescript and side-stapled into printed wrappers, with a leaf of handmade paper with a hole burned into it so the title can be read through, as issued. "Since this work will express the notion that jack green and William Gaddis are the same person, and that Job and Jehovah are two renderings of the same name and therefore represent two aspects of the same reality, and other such hopeful corrections of intellectual double vision, it should be made clear at the beginning that the common muse of the famous writers Henry Miller and Lawrence Durrell is not to be understood as one ordinary woman named 'Eve.'" From the prolog (sic). A clean, near fine example bumped at the tips, with some offsetting to title and dedication pages and inside front cover from the leaves found in the handmade paper.

Paperback. Condición: Very Good. First edition. Oblong tape-bound wrappers. Three issues of Hawkins' Freak Magazine are bound up here together. One of the more bizarre counterculture publications that came out of the Bay Area in the 1960's. Hawkins was at one time thought ot be the alias of "Wanda Tinasky" (an alias used when writing letters to a Bay Area underground newspaper which some speculated was none other than Thomas Pynchon. That was later disproved.). Hawkins was accused of murdering his wife, setting his house on fire and later committed suicide. Any issue of Freak is quite rare. This publication is the first copy we have handled. Five of them have ended up in institutional hands. Some wear to covers. Very good condition.
