This book describes the geology of the Dorset coast between Charmouth and Abbotsbury, where the Jurassic sections are particularly informative, and the hinterland as far north as the extensive flat Vale of Ilchester. The stratigraphy of the district is examined in detail and separate chapters are devoted to the palaeontology of the Jurassic formations, the structure and the economic geology, including the ground water resources.
