Hardcover. Condición: Very Good. Illustrated by H. A. Thomas Ilustrador. 1st Edition; 1st Printing. B&W Illustrations; This book is in Very Good condition and is lacking a dust jacket. The spine ends and corners of the book covers have some light bumping and rubbing. The covers have several spots of discoloration. The text pages are clean and bright. There is a small northwest airlines sticker on the front endpaper. "In the beginning, there were huge, heavy engines, better suited to powering model boats than model airplanes. In 1896, Samuel Langley flew a large model airplane for 90 seconds, powered by a steam engine of his own design. Full-size, internal-combustion engines were in their infancy and miniature engines were hand-built curiosities. A. D. Stanger flew a model airplane in England using a V4 of his own design; the engine weighed 5 pounds, 6 ounces! " (from Wikipedia).
