With 48 coloured (sic) and 28 uncoloured illustrations by Frank Southgate. Mr. Dutt says he was "assisted by numerous contributors." Ffep, with first owner's name, is detached in place. The pages tangent to the plates are foxed. The folded map at the rear is fine. 412 pp. plus 76 plates. The front endpaper is cracked at the hinge but hinge is holding.

Condición: Fair. 1930. 4th Edition, Revised. 407 pages. No dust jacket. Blue cloth. Colour and black and white illustrated plates throughout. Severe cracking to hinges causing boards to be loose. Pages and plates have light tanning and foxing throughout. Pencil inscription to front free endpaper. Map to rear free endpaper ripped out. Boards have moderate shelf-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Slight crushing to spine ends with splits to spine ends causing cloth to be frayed. Staining to spine. Wear marks overall.
Condición: Good. Most items will be dispatched the same or the next working day. Rebound ex library book, in good condition, with the usual stamps and stickers. Textblock edges are tanned, contents clear. A lovely copy.

The blue cloth boards are fine though there is a little sunning and soiling to the spine which has bright gilt lettering. TEG with others lightly foxed. Small bookseller labels (William George's Sons, Bristol) to the fp and rp. Contents, including the plates, are in very good clean condition. The dust jacket has a significant part missing to the bottom left of the front which extends to the spine and part of the rear. There is also a large chip to the top of the spine. In addition there are tears and creases to other parts and some soiling to the remainder of the spine. Most of the front and rear remain however and are bright.
