Hardcover. Condición: Very Good. First edition. Octavo. 72pp. Rebound in brown leather with a gilt and painted spine and a decorative border on the cover. Shoulders worn and starting, hinges just barely starting, a few chips and small tears at page foredges, still a tight, very good copy. Wallace is best known for his novel *Once Off Guard*, the basis for the classic 1944 noir film "The Woman in the Window," starring Joan Bennett and Edward G. Robinson. This book is Inscribed to "Father + Mother O'Neil" and Signed by J.H. Wallis. The book has been interestingly rebound with Japanese-style wave endpapers and thick boards that are gilt and, it would appear, decoratively painted black in parts. The binder has Signed one of the front blanks: "Hand Bound By Ellan Doris O'Neil - 1932." A Signed copy of an early book of poems by the author of a noir classic, in a charming, Signed, vernacular binding.
