Good +. a reading copy. no dj. red boards with black detailing and titling, and to spine, which is sunned. there is a 1 inch tear to top left side of spine with associated wear. rubbing to both ends of spine. no inscriptions but ffeps, pre-title and tile pages are badly foxed. y page 7 this foxing is only very isolated, otherwise text is clean and bright. 1 page is not bound in - but present .

This very good copy is bound in cream paper covered boards with black titling to the spine, tight, white, bright and square there is some spotting to the outside paper edges but this does not encroach upon the page The price clipped dust wrapper has one or two rubs so best described as very good, it has now been covered in clear removable, archival, protective film. International postal rates are calculated on a book weighing 1 Kilo, in cases where the book weighs less then postage will be reduced accordingly. Where the book weighs more than 1 Kilo increased charges will be quoted. Q-ships, also known as Q-boats, decoy vessels, special service ships, or mystery ships, were heavily armed merchant ships with concealed weaponry, designed to lure submarines into making surface attacks. This gave Q-ships the chance to open fire and sink them. They were used by the British Royal Navy (RN) and the German Kaiserliche Marine during the First World War and by the RN, the Kriegsmarine and the United States Navy during the Second World War (1939 - 45). Vice Admiral Gordon Campbell, VC, DSO & Two Bars (6 January 1886 ? 3 July 1953) was a British naval officer, writer, politician and a recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces. He was also awarded the Croix de Guerre and appointed a chevalier of the Légion d'honneur for his actions during the First World War Ref E2.
