Mark Rutherford was the pseudonym of the writer William Hale White, who was a well known doorkeepter of the House of Commons. He wrote parliamentary sketches in the Illustrated Times. This autobiography was first published in 1881. Condition: Very slight age/handling discolouration marks front and back of cover - minor. Minor rub top and bottom of spine + corners. e/ps slight ghosting. Opening page presentation to Mr A. R. Bell written in period black ink handwriting dated Xmas 1908. Internally clean, little wear, binding firm, good colour. GC.
