A true miniature, measuring just 11 x 7 cms. 32pp; a selection from popular 'Glamour' booklets published during WWII., and intended, as much as anything, to advertise these cheaply in a publication costing just 1/- (a shilling). Illustrated front cover in red, black and white, the rear panel white. 32pp; the 12 photos reproduced recto, with description on preceding opposite page. Staples rusted, but pages holding at present. Generally clean and tidy, with no markings or inscriptions, but mild diagonal corner creasing at leading top corners of a number of pages. No substantial or obvious faults or soiling. All tight, bright and clean with no markings or inscriptions, and some very slight indeed tanning/foxing to paper pages at front and rear only. Plates in lovely condition. Sewn binding, so no nasty staples. (VG+) Dustwrapper unclipped (2/6 net), slight rubbed/greying effect to rear panel, some small chips and closed tears (one selotape repair verso), minor creasing to lower front (VG-) : presenting as predominantly a bright, clean copy. Contains an image of Phyllis Dixey in stockings; she was a much-loved singer, dancer and actress, famous particularly for her work with ENSA during WWII, and for challenging censorship boundaries by appearing in naked tableaux on stage. The dustwrapper is unclipped (2/6 net), moderate only evidence of handling, with minor creasing and chips to long edges, verso with browning to top edge and some foxing spots.
