THE FIRST FRENCH EDITION 1814, translated by the Marquis de Caumels, with full name of translator and dedication to Duc d'Angouleme to title, a variant edition was issued with title giving only initials of the translator and lacking dedication, French text. 8vo approximately 220 x 130 mm, 8½ x 5 inches, illustrated folding engraved plate printed in colours, 6 letterpress tables on 4 folding sheets, pages: xvi, 1-418, [1], including half-title, quarter morocco, gilt decoration to spine, green glazed boards. Binding rubbed with scuff at the top of lower hinge, small chip to top of spine, boards faded at edges with some colouring applied at sometime by amateur, corners worn with board showing, shelf wear to edges with some chipping, some tiny dark brown spots affecting folding tables, 2 dark brown spots to page 1, pale foxing and browning to many margins, a good copy. The author was librarian of the Royal Botanical Gardens in Madrid. Esta lámina y la hoja que lo acompaña aparece en muy pocos ejemplares, ni lo refleja la ficha del catálogo colectivo de patrimonio ni los dos ejemplares digitalizados en linea. La otra lámina acuarelada. 22x16 cm. Encuadernación holandesa piel y aguas de época.
