Copy belonging to student Leonard Goldstein, with an annotation in manuscript ink stating the same on the front wrapper: "This was presented to me, Leonard Goldstein, on the 22nd day of May by the English department of Eastside High School, Paterson, for having written the best essay concerning 'sacrifice'." Based on Charles Dickens' 1859 novel, which follows a love triangle between a French aristocrat, an alcoholic English lawyer, and a young woman named Lucie in the years before and during the French Revolution. Nominated for two Academy Awards, including Best Picture. Set in Paris and London. Orange titled wrappers, noted as Final Script on the front wrapper, with credits for author Charles Dickens, screenwriters W.P. Lipscomb, and S.N. Behrman, and director Jack Conway. 177 leaves, with last page of text numbered 148. Mimeograph duplication, rectos only. Pages Very Good plus, wrapper Very Good, moderately edgeworn, bound with three staples. Housed in a maroon quarter-leather clamshell box.
