Die 1758 erschienene erste Ausgabe bestand nur aus den fünfzehn Briefen des aus der Schweiz stammenden Diplomaten Urbain Roger über die dänische Regierungsform, den Code Danois, die Geschichte der Revolution 1660, die dänische Finanzverwaltung, die Handelskompagnien (besonders die isländische), die Manufakturen und das Militär des Landes (präzis: die Bodentruppen). Die zweite Ausgabe wurde durch einen zweiten Band des dänischen Staatssekretärs v. Reverdil erweitert, der u.a. die Marine, Kunst und Wissenschaften, die Grafen von Oldenburg und Delmenhorst, die dänischen Herzogtümer und ihre geographische Lage, über Kopenhagen, die dänische Küste, das Klima, den Nationalcharakter, Titel und Würden, die Rangordnung der Ritterschaft, Bevölkerung, Institutionen, die Antillen-Kolonien und den Handel in Guinea zum Thema hat.
