Archaeological Research Survey Report 23. First edition. An intensive reconnaissance of a 15 mile long segment of the central Washita River Valley was conducted in the summer of 1983. The survey covered a one mile wide corridor from Lindsay in Gary County to Alex in Grady County Oklahoma. The project was designed to document the cultural resources in the area and provide a base line date for management of the resources. No particular interest was the number of distribution of Plains Village sites. No systematic surveys had been conducted in the valley, yet many large villages were know for the area. This survey provided the first opportunity to examine the density and distribution of Plains Villagers in central Washita River Valley. Condition: Spine and back wrapper sunned some edge wear else a very good copy.
