Oversize book snugly bound in original flexible green leather with yapped edges, original onion skin dust jacket and in the original presentation box. 1st and only edition, published for distribution to the employees of PW&P and Safe Harbor Water in recognition of their collective efforts to safeguard the dams and the community during the unprecedented flooding in the early Spring of 1936. An exceptionally well preserved copy of this very uncommon title. Green leather covers uniformly bright and fresh with ruling in triple blind to edges and a gilt reproduction of the text of the Plaque erected in recognition of the employees. This copy retains the original onion skin dust jacket which has some expected toning and fragility with shallow chipping at edges. It is housed in the original lidded presentation box, which has helped preserve the book in such a stunning condition. Lavishly illustrated with sepia toned b&w photos of the flood, its effects and efforts to protect the dams through the several stages of the intensifying crisis. An extensive b&w photo section of portraits of officers and employees is appended at rear. Of the 3 copies we have handled over 30 years this copy is easily the most impressive in regard to condition. The box has light rubbing and wear at tips and edges. Overall NF.
