Rare pamphlet without binding, with Voor-reden and de story of the Haerlemschen Harminiaen. Clean copy. Famous pamphlet as it was the only pro-remonstrant act in the restless period of the remonstrant and contra remonstrant feud. A "harminiaen" is a follower of the ideas of Arminius in Haarlem. This pamphlet from 1618 is directed against the city government of Haarlem, the "Harminiaenen". According to the unknown author the government was unfairly banning the contra-remonstrants from the city, without a trial. The Haarlem council promised a 300 Dutch guilders for handing in of the author. In the pamphlet, the remonstrant belief is described as "Spaensche tirannie onder een nieuwe naam". Several examples are given of prosecution of contra-remonstrants that were unfair according to the author.
