First edition hard back binding in publisher's original red and black over-printed sage green cloth covered boards, blocked and lettered black back, radial corners, end paper advertisements. 8vo. 7½'' x 5¼''. Principally concerned with the Isle of Thanet, Sandwich and Deal. Contains tissue-guarded folding frontispiece, (viii), 188, + 32 pp with Phil May's distinctively humorous monochrome illustrations throughout. Spine age darkened, light soiling to the covers, else in Very Good condition. Remnants of cream card photo corner mounted to the half-title page SIGNED 'F. C. Burnand', with the author's hand also to the reverse. From the private library of Sydney John Robinson with his photographic bookplate adhered to the verso of the half-title page.
