A beautiful book with gilt, raised decoration of flowers and a dragonfly on the front cover and gilt lettering and decorative lines. 6 1/2" x 9 1/4." 330 pages, complete. Multicolored and black and white drawings and watercolors, complete. Drawing and watercolors are by Swiss painter Luigi Rossi (1853-1923) and Austrian artist Felician Myrbach (1853-1940). Engraved by the Guillaume brothers. Multicolored marbled endpapers. Covers are slightly worn. Spine is browned. Pages are clean, and binding is tight. A note addressed to Mrs. Paul Robert Rossum from Helen Fossum is pasted onto the front flyleaf (Helen writes how she bought this book in France and is giving it to her as a gift). A clean copy overall. This is a fictional memoir of a naval officer who marries a geisha in Japan.

"Die Fläche Band II" erstmals erschienen im Jahre 1910, bereits als Reprint zum 100jährigen Bestehen des Verlages herausgebracht, ist die Nachfolgepublikation der nun vorgestellten "Fläche Band I". In der "Fläche Band I" stellten die "Lehrer" Josef Hoffmann, Koloman Moser, Alfred Roller den neuen Wiener Flächenstil vor - in der "Fläche Band II" gaben dann die Arbeiten ihrer Schüler Einblick in Veränderungen und Wandlungen, die die neue Kunst innerhalb von acht Jahren erfahren hatte.
