Full title: Bright Lights In Dark Times: The Waldenses And Their Persecutions In The Valleys Of Piedmont. Black and white illustrations throughout. Slight cracking to hinges, with exposed netting, pages slightly loose. Page and illustrations have light tanning and foxing throughout. Previous owner's inscription to front free endpaper. Boards have moderate shelf-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Light tanning to spine and edges with crushing to spine ends.

Illustrated with engravings, decorative initial caps. Blue textured cloth, titles stamped in gilt on the cover and spine, titles and decorations stamped in black on the cover and spine, edges gilt. Spine ends rubbed, back hinge starting, one central leaf detached: a tad shaken, but leaves crisp and bright. Bookplate of F. Douglas Pennoyer on back endpaper. A short history of the Waldensians, "originally contributed to the pages of a young peoples' magazine." The decorated cloth is particularly bright, with gilt retaining its reflective quality.
