Hardcover. Condición: Very Good minus. First Edition thus. An original deluxe edition. Octavo, 9 3/4" tall, xvi + 328 pages; b&w plates and intertextual illustrations, gilt embossed dark green leather, 5 raised bands, beveled edges as well as blind embossing, gilt spine titles and gilt fore-edges, blue cloth page marker, heavy yellow endpapers. Previous owner's inscription and signature with date of Christmas 1872 penned on front free endpaper. A very good, clean, neat, hardcover with minor shelf wear and moderate rubbing to the leather edges, hinges (a slight split started at the front endpaper hinge, but hinges strong) and binding solid, foxing to the free endpapers, light soiling to endpapers; paper clean and just lightly yellowed. A beautiful copy that might require a little color restoration to the leather.
