ABOUT THE AUTHORS: Martha Davis is a psychologist in the Department of Psychiatry of Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Santa Clara, California, where she does individual, couple, and group psychotherapy. Dr. Davis is author of Relax: The Stress Reduction System, and co-author of Thoughts & Feelings: The Art of Cognitive Stress Intervention, and Messages: The Communication Skills Book. She received her doctorate in Social Clinical Psychology from the Wright Institute in Berkeley, California. She is a member of the American Psychological Association. Elizabeth Robbins Eshelman is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who works for the Kaiser Permanente Medical Care Program in Northern California. As a clinician and researcher, she develops, facilitates, and evaluates health education and health promotion programs that provide health information and psychological support and teach most of the coping and self-management skills presented in this book. Ms. Eshelman received her Master's Degree in Social Work from San Francisco State University. Matthew McKay is a founding director of Haight Ashbury Psychological Services and co-director of Brief Therapy Associates in San Francisco. Dr. McKay is co-author of eleven popular books, including Self-Esteem, Thoughts & Feelings: The Art of Cognitive Stress Intervention, Messages: The Communication Skills Book, When Anger Hurts, Prisoners of Belief, and Couple Skills: Making Your Relationship Work.
