One of Harlan Ellison's earliest crime detective pulp fiction novels which he started writing about this time in the mid-1950s. This is the first appearance ever of the second novel of the trilogy (the other two novels are the The Golden Virgin and They Killed My Kid!) featuring protagonist insurance investigator Jerry Killian, Ellison's only series character in the genre. As of this writing, there are only about two known copies on the market of this true first edition of Harlan Ellision's original pulp fiction novel. The three novels including this were republished in the 1960's glamour magazine Adam Bedside Reader under the name Paul Merchant. Features stories by authors Robert Silverberg, Edward D. Hoch, B.W.
