Soft cover. Condición: Fine. 1st Edition. Fall 1936 Fanciful Tales of Time and Space Magazine with Lovecraft's "The Nameless City". (Oakman, Alabama: Sheperd & Wollheim, 1936), 45 pages plus three pages of advertising, staplebound in oversized paper covers, 8vo (5.75" x 8.5"). This interesting magazine also contains stories from Robert E. Howard, August Derleth, and Donald Wollheim, co-publisher of Fanciful Tales and future publisher at Ace and DAW. "The Nameless City" is widely considered to be Lovecraft's first Cthulhu Mythos story, and here it appears for only the second time in print. It had been published previously in the amateur journal Wolverine in 1921. This very magazine was reprinted with Wollheim's permission in 1977, but this is the original. This wonderful vintage fanzine has evenly tanned pages, tiny chip at spine head, minor bend at lower cover tip (unavoidable as covers are about 1/2" wider than the pages) else a NEAR FINE very well preserved copy.
