No Binding. Condición: Very Good. Single handwriiten sheet, undated and signed with the initial RB (Robert Bulwer Lytton). Bulwer Lytton, or Lord Lytton (1831-1891) also styled himself Robert Bulwer, although his poetry was published under the name Owen Meredtith. Satirical verse. The sheet seems to have been torn from a large notebook as the righthand edge is slightly coarse and the whole has been folded. There is a blind stamped (Royal) coat-of-arms at the head of the sheet. Undated.

Hardcover. Condición: Very Good. First edition. First edition. Slim 12mo. in original light brown pebbled cloth stamped in gilt. Deep green endpapers. Half-title, title, 142 pp, printers colophon. Tipped in at the front free endpaper is a 8 line handwritten note on Knebworth House, Stevenage note paper, dated Oct. 27th, 1886. It reads: "My dear Sir,/ In reply to your letter of the 24th Sept, I beg to place at your servicefor publication in the Independent, if you desire it, the enclosed poem;which thought writen 18 years ago, has never been published./ Yours truly/ Lytton". The note is clear and bright, shallow fold along one edge so as to fit within the boards of the book. The book itself is tight, internally clean with some occasional light foxing. The boards are faded to a light tan with the gilt title stamping to the front cover faint, shallow wear at the spine extremities. The main piece appearing here is "The Battle of Kosovo" followed by a collection of shorter "Popular Or Domestic Pesmas".
