Hardcover. Condición: Good. No Jacket. Blaine, Majlon Ilustrador. The classic tales of Shaharazad (Scheherazade) restored to their original Arabic beauty in these masterful translations by Edward William Lane, widely considered the most accurate & complete. Lane's original text, first published 1838-1840, is faithfully reproduced here, along with his Notes--annotations which greatly enhance appreciation & enjoyment of the stories. In 1260 pages. Full-color Frontispiece (artist unattributed) shows Shaharazad entertaining the sultan & consort. Sumptuous Deco-design woodcut endpapers by Majlon Blaine, 1927. Hardcover book has black textured cloth over boards with gilt lettering & red design to front & spine. Condition is only Good: heavy rubbing, down to underlying boards at corners & in places along lower extremities. Cloth at both ends of spine is heavily worn & frayed. Internally, the title page/CR page is missing; not ex-lib. Everything else is present & very clean, with light shelfwear/soiling to outside page edges. Text block secure, but rear hinge is cracked.
