Condición: Near Fine. WOMEN'S VIDEO FESTIVAL, poster + concert flyer printing details of the second annual Women's Video Festival held in The Kitchen Theatre at the Logiudice Gallery, NYC, September 28-October 14, 1973. The Women's Video Festival highlighted women as producers and as subjects, and included work by individual filmmakers (Steina Vasulkas, Shigeko Kubota, Susan Milano, among others) and video collectives (including the Women's Television Project and Vulva Video). Poster printed offset in black on pale cream stock, recto and verso. 406x270 mm (unfolded). The flyer (217x279 mm.) advertises accompanying concerts by Charlotte Moorman, which included performances of "Crotch Music" and "C. Moorman in Drag" by Jim McWilliams (Joan Rothfuss has observed how both works "alluded to his own identity as a homosexual by lampooning forms of live entertainment popular with gay men" ["Topless Cellist", p.289]). Moorman usually declined invitations to participate at women's events, her only other known appearance being at the Women's Music Festival at Mills College, Oakland in the following year. Condition: central horizontal fold to poster. 4mm closed tear to top of smaller program sheet. Otherwise both items Near Fine.
