Insgesamt 31 Seiten mit 8 Abbildungen und einer Titelblatt- Illustration. Inhalt: Otto Heinrich von Gemmingen, der Dichter des >Deutschen HausvatersAllegroPenseroso< als Abschiedsgruß für seine Freunde, als er Mannheim verließ, um nach Wien zu gehen. Ferdinand Kobell schmückte den Druck mit dem Titelkupfer und Vignetten. Die Radierungen wurden unter der Leitung von Professor Fritz Götz in der Leipziger Akademie für Buchgewerbe und Graphik nachgebildet und C. G. Naumann in Leipzig im Offset- Verfahren wiedergegeben. Zustand: Der empfindliche Einband wurde zum Schutz locker in einer Zellophan- Hülle eingelegt, minimal berieben, etwas gebräunt, Ecken und Kanten kaum bestoßen. Innen: Seiten wenig gebräunt, sonst sauber, wohl gepflegt und tadellos erhalten. Sprache: Deutsch Gewicht in Gramm: 1050 Gr.8°(Groß- Oktav- Format bis 25 cm.) Melangebrauner Original- Pappeinband, Fadenbindung; mit hell- gelbem, montierten Vorderdeckel- Etikett, schwarz beschriftet. Privatdruck, gedruckt in Leipzig bei: Poeschel & Trepte, Neudruck der Ausgabe von 1782 in Mannheim in der Schwanischen Buchhandlung, für die Mitglieder der Gesellschaft der Bibliophilen.

Blattgröße: 25 x 20 cm. *Stengel 12, 13, 9. 10. - Wohl aus der 1809 in Nürnberg erschienenen Gesamtausgabe seiner Radierungen. - Ferdinand Kobell schlug nach einem Studium der Rechtswissenschaft zunächst eine Beamtenlaufbahn ein, Kurfürst Karl Theodor von der Pfalz ermöglichte dem jungen Mann bereits 1762 mit einem Stipendium das Kunststudium an der Mannheimer Akademie, 1766 folgte die Ernennung zum Kabinettsmaler. Er wurde ein produktiver Landschaftsmaler, Kupferstecher und Radierer. Radierung, Neben seinen Gemälden schuf er etwa 300 Radierungen. Sprache: Deutsch Gewicht in Gramm: 100.

Condición: sehr guter Zustand. Radierung, 1781, auf Bütten. 4,7:8,2 cm. Stengel 78. Auf Wunsch seines Vaters schlug Ferdinand Kobell eine Beamtenlaufbahn ein. Nach seinem Jurastudium wurde er 1760 Hofkammersekretär in Mannheim. 1762 ermöglichte ihm Kurfürst Karl Theodor von der Pfalz durch ein Stipendium das Kunststudium an der Mannheimer Akademie unter P. Verschaffelt (1710 - 1793). Daneben betrieb er selbständig Studien nach der Natur. 1764 erhielt er eine Anstellung als Theatermaler an der Hofoper, 1766 folgte die Ernennung zum Kabinettsmaler. Auf Kosten des Kurfürsten hielt er sich 1768 - 1770 in Paris bei J. G. Wille (1715 - 1808) auf und studierte die holländische Landschaftsmalerei. 1771 erfolgte die Ernennung zum Kabinetts-Landschaftsmaler. In den folgenden Jahren entstanden Landschaften im Stil der holländischen Vorbilder, aber auch heroische Landschaften in Anlehnung an Claude Lorrain. Erst nach 1780 wandte er sich einer realistischen Auffassung zu. 1793 folgte er dem bereits 1778 verlegten Hof nach München, wo er 1798 zum Leiter der ehemaligen Mannheimer Galerie avancierte.

Die Darstellung zeigt eine idyllische Felsenlandschaft, mit einer Wassermühle links im Hintergrund und Viehhirte zu Pferde im Vordergrund, der seine Herde über eine Straße ins Gebirge führt. Späterer Abzug des 19. Jahrhunderts von der Originalplatte. - Ferdinand Kobell (1740 Mannheim - 1799 München) war ein deutscher Maler, Kupferstecher und Radierer. Bruder von Franz Kobell, Vater von Wilhelm von Kobell und Vertreter der Deutschen Romantik. 1762 wurde er durch ein Landschaftsgemälde dem Kurfürsten von der Pfalz Carl Theodor bekannt, der ihn seitdem unterstützte. 1768/69 zur weiteren Ausbildung in Paris. Nach seiner Rückkehr kurfürstlicher Kabinettsmaler und wenig später Professor an der Akademie in Mannheim. Folgte dem Kurfürsten 1793 nach München. Kurz vor seinem Tod wurde er 1798 Direktor der Galerie zu Mannheim. - Zustand: gut erhalten Sprache: Deutsch 7,6x17,4 cm (Motiv), 25,4x37 cm (Rahmen).

Zustand: am oberen Rand montiert auf Karton. Literatur: Stengel 57; Nagler 54. Kobell etwa 300 Radierungen und einige Gemälde bekannt. Ein Jahr vor seinem Tod wurde Kobell Direktor der kurpfalzbayrischen Gemäldegalerie in Mannheim.
