In 176 pages, with pen-and-ink drawings throughout by illustrator Atanas Katchamakoff (1889-1984), himself a Bulgarian sculptor. Orig. published in Nov.1934, this is the 12th printing from Dec. 1962, with gilt Newbery Medal sticker on front (it won this award in 1935). This is an Ex-Lib copy with the usual stamps & markings, in library binding of patterned green cloth, reinforced for heavy use. Despite being ex-lib, condition is VG: internally quite clean & bright, binding strong & straight, pages creamy white with just a hint of tanning to edges. Boards show slight rubbing to extremities, bumping to both corners & ends of spine. The unclipped DJ is : colorful with edgewear, small chips, short tears; nicely protected in new mylar cover Free!
