A series of lectures in english on Chinese civilization delivered between 1913 and 1933 at McGill University in Montreal by a Chinese scholar who subsequently returned to China and had them printed in Shanghai, under Japanese threat. and bombings. He mentions the urgency of understanding Chinese history and culture because a Chinese Soviet is functioning in the Yangtse valley; communism and anti-communism becoming the pretext of further mayhem. The original scarce item, not a reprint. .

A very well kept copy, lacking the dust jacket, faint shelfwear to cover edges, small push to upper tips, a few only, light pencil markings, else all but immaculate.
