From the Greenwich Village restaurant The Cookery, the authors present recipes "to be prepared at home, where there are cooks, not chefs." The Cookery ran for thirty years, and had three locations. It closed & reopened in the mid-1980s under new ownership, although Barney Josephson remained a part owner.
