All apparently by Hablot Browne ('Phiz') Original publisher's pictorial boards, uncommon thus. Cover shows caricature style drawings of smokers in various poses. Sound and complete but with some general wear, a few marks and some rubbing. Long inscription on title page from 1843 ".exceedingly curious and full of anecdote about smoking a complete and satisfactory antidote to King James. very interesting invaluable work and rather scarce.".
