Originally issued in Arber's 'English Reprints' series 1868-1871. Of interest from several angles such as social history, history of psychology and bibliography (as Arber has a bibliographic table showing the characters in each of the 9 issuings over Earle's lifetime, from the 1628 1st to the 1661 8th., and lists subsequent editions down to 1813) The full original title ran: Micro-cosmographie, or, A Peece of the World Discovered; in Essayes and Characters', in fact the contents are virtually all character sketches of different types etc. Note: quoted shipping rates are calculated for 500-700 gram net weight, cost will be modified up or down as appropriate outside this range. Clean, very sharp, deeply-colored cloth with bright titles; minture touches of loss at hinge ends and tips ofcorners. Binding strong and square with white paper hinge-tape reinforcements to gutters front and rear mulberry endpapers. Pages well-toned on pulpy stock, otherwise clean and unmarked.
