Condición: Fine in near fine dust jacket. Limited first US edition of James Joyce's only play, a semi-autobiographical story of the tangled lives of two couples. Defined by Schroedinger's Tryst that takes place (or doesn't?) between acts 2 and 3, EXILES "has the shape of an Ibsen play [.] with clearly defined form it has sparseness and significance of dialogue" (introduction). Original cloth-backed boards. Original unclipped ($5.00)brown dust jacket. Red topstain. Pictorial endpapers of facsimiles of the EXILES manuscript. 128 pages. Jacket with a hint of soil and rubbing.
