Each of the thirteen volumes in the series has a different author, with the exception of the first two written by the General Editor Geoffrey Grigson. Black and white and occasional colour photographic illustrations throughout the book. ***Near fine in map-illustrated paper-covered boards. The boards are clean and unmarked. Head and tail of spine just slightly creased. No bumps. Corners sharp. Page block edges clean. No reading lean to the binding. Spine tight. Internally also near fine with no inscriptions. Pages clean and bright. No foxing. No creases or tears. Printed on nice quality paper. ***In a very good illustrated dustwrapper, which repeats the map design on the boards. The dustwrapper is complete, but has a large corner price-clip to the front flap. Extremities of dustwrapper slightly rubbed, with a small area of loss at the top of the spine. No creases or tears. No fading. Dustwrapper clean and bright. ***220mm x 145mm. 92 pages including a section of touring maps and a Gazetteer at the back of the book. ***'About Britain is a series of 13 books published by Collins for the Festival of Britain in 1951 under the general editorship of Geoffrey Grigson who also wrote the first two volumes in the series.
