Hardcover. Condición: Very Good -. FIRST EDITION. First Edition, 1947. Herman Hoeksema (1886-1965) was a Dutch Reformed theologian. Hoeksema served as a long time pastor of the First Protestant Reformed Church in Grand Rapids. In 1924 he refused to accept the three points of common grace which had then been declared official church dogma of the Christian Reformed Church, as an addition to its adopted creeds and confessions. The result of this controversy was that Hoeksema, and ministers George Ophoff, and Henry Danhof, were deposed by their respective classes before leaving the CRC with their congregations. These men then established the Protestant Reformed Churches. (Wikipedia). Eight chapters. 135 pp. CONDITION: Blue boards with gilt title on cover and barely discernible on rubbed spine. Wear to edges and corners as well as head and tail of spine. Worn-through spots on back. Sound binding, shaded endpapers; only writing within is owner's name on front flyleaf. Very good reading copy. Full refund if not satisfied.
