This copy is also signed by a Jonathan Field underneath the above, with a loosely inserted note from him to later owner of the book. HB. Black cloth with gilt titles and pictorial dustjacket. Partly paginated. With b&w illustrations throughout, showing images of and relating to the Beggar's Opera and John Gay, including some modern actors; with some musical extracts in text. Very Good in Good jacket, now in clear sleeve. Foxed prelims, tanned and spotted closed edges. Jacket tanned to margins, small loss to spine head, and tears to top edges; part of title underlined in red ink.
