Hardcover. Condición: Fair. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Fair. The Book by Owen Hall. Lyrics by Harry Greenbank & Adrian Ross. Composed by Sidney Jones. Folio; iv (presentation title-page, contents leaf) & 79 pages of music scores; 8 splendid full-page photographic plates of the cast (frontispiece of Marie Tempest, plus portraits of Letty Lind, Hilda Moody, Rutland Barrington, C Hayden Coffin, Gladys Homfrey, Huntley Wright, and one of four members of the cast); original plain white boards, with loose silk covering on which is printed a photograph of the cast on the front, and an illustration of the theatre on the back (with the wording: Daly's Theatre, Sole Proprietor Mr. George Edwardes); a well-worn copy: spine worn and beginning to split, bottom corners badly bumped, top corner worn, inner joints split; the silk covering is grubby and badly frayed at top and bottom, there is a snag running across the back cover illustration, but the front cover illustration is fully intact. 1 page is torn, but otherwise the book is in good condition internally. A splendid souvenir of this 1898 musical comedy production of "A Greek Slave", with the famous Marie Tempest in the starring role, presented to commemorate the 250th performance: the title-page is signed in ink by George Edwardes, and there is a facsimile signature of Sidney Jones stamped on to the first page of music. The photographs are splendid!. Signed by Author(s).
