Cloth. Condición: Very Good. Jacopo Robusti Ilustrador. First edition. A first and limited edition of this German work on Tintoretto's drawings, illustrated with plates. First Edition. In German. Featuring 72 tissue-guarded plates to the rear. No. 1051 of a limited edition of 1200 copies. Jacopo Robusti, known as Tintoretto (29 April 1519 - 31 May 1594) was an Italian painter, one of the greatest exponents of the Venetian school and probably the last great painter of the Italian Renaissance . The nickname Tintoretto derived from the father's profession; dyer of fabrics. For his phenomenal energy in painting he was nicknamed 'Furious', and his dramatic use of perspective and light means he is considered by many to be a precursor to Baroque art. In a cloth binding. Externally, very smart with just minor shelfwear and a mark to the tail of the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright with some minor spotting to the first and last few pages. Very Good. book.
