Fine Binding. Condición: Very Good. Revised & Expanded Edition. This copy is bound in brown faux pebbled hide with gilt titling to the spine and blind banding to the spine and the upper and lower boards. Other editions of this book seem to have a gilt illustration to the upper board which would suggest that this copy has been rebound. There is some cracking to the front gutter but this is holding. There is a closed tear to pp 5/6 and 7/8. The text block is unmarked bright, white and tight. A dust wrapper is not called for. This fascinating account is all the more interesting for being written from the ranks. The author Sergeant major T. Gowing of the 7th Royal Fusiliers describes in words and illustraions engagements in the Crimean Campaign, The Indian Mutiny and The Afghan Campaigns of 1863 He also provides sketches of the lives and deaths of Sir Havelock and Captain Hedley Vickers. Ref TT7 Size: 586pp.
