First edition. 8vo., original pictorial card wrappers and pictorial map endpapers by Seán O'Sullivan. (Dublin), An Press Naisiunta. Spine creased as usual, a small hole at the base, edges foxed, still a fine copy of the first edition of O'Nolan's classically funny, if cruel, parody of the early twentieth century celebratory memoirs of life in the deep margins of Ireland by writers such as Thomas O'Crohan and Maurice Sullivan. Later published in English as The Poor Mouth, illustrated by Ralph Steadman, who copied Seán O'Sullivan's vanity of the pictorial endpapers bearing a fanciful map of the Atlantic: Britain is ?de Odar Saigd? and has only two features, Money Order offices, and G.B.S. The U.S.A. has more Money Order offices.

First edition. 8vo., original wrappers. Dublin, The Irish Times. Loosely inserted is a mysteriously blunt note from the author, declaring in his umistakable holograph: ?Mr. Daly, to repair, please, Brian, 17/1/48? An unusually excellent copy of a fragile item, the note - albeit with some clear history of previous creasing - in very good state.
